1. LNG released into the environment is highly flammable and unsafe, and poses an explosion risk. (See pages 124-125)
2. LNG tankers and facilities pose serious security risks, and are vulnerable to terrorism. Port Ambrose would be located just miles from NY/NJ Harbor, JFK Airport, and located between channels for commerce including chemical oil tankers. It is irresponsible to site a potential terrorism target like this near a residential and commercial hub. (see pages 121-125)
3. LNG is a disaster for our climate and steers us away from efficiency, conservation, and renewable energy. (pages 112-114; 66-76)
4. Liberty Natural Gas Port Ambrose is a secretive corporation of nameless backers based in the Cayman Islands that refuses to disclose who they are and their financial investors. (pages 125-127)
5. LNG Port Ambrose would industrialize our ocean, harm marine life, and impact fishing. (see pages 86-99, 116-121)
6. LNG Port Ambrose would put coastal communities in jeopardy from hurricanes and storms. (pages 29-32, 115-116)
7. Exporting LNG would cause hydrofracking to increase across the region. (pages 46-55)
8. LNG Port Ambrose is exceeding likely to become an export facility that would drive up energy costs for families who use natural gas in the region. (pages 39-60)
9. LNG Port Ambrose would create only six (6) long-term jobs; a real green energy future including energy conservation and renewables will create thousands of high paying, permanent jobs. (pages 67-72, 76-77, 85-86)
